It was released on June 18, 2002, in the United States by Rhino Records, and compiles material from Baker's career spanning 1983-2002. The album has been certified "Gold" by the RIAA for 500,000 copies sold.

The album was released in the UK as Sweet Love: The Very Best of Anita Baker, with a slightly different track listing and running order.
